Duane A. Lillehaug

Duane A. Lillehaug’s practice areas include personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance coverage disputes in both Minnesota and North Dakota. He is one of a select group of attorneys in North Dakota that is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Duane has been listed as a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation, selected for the inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (in the practice areas of personal injury – plaintiffs, and product liability litigation – plaintiffs) and recognized as a Great Plains Super Lawyer by Thomson-Reuters in its publication Supers Lawyers.
Duane grew up in rural Adams County, North Dakota, and graduated high school in Lemmon, South Dakota. He received his undergraduate B.A. degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, in 1971, and graduated, with distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1975. After serving one year as a law clerk with the North Dakota Supreme Court, his practice has focused on trial law in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota for over 40 years.
Duane has served as President of the Minnesota Association for Justice, President of the Ronald N. Davies Inn of Court, and as a member of the Civil Trial Certification Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Aside from his service to the legal community, Duane is a past Chair of the Board of the Minn-kota Chapter of the American Red Cross, and was a member of the national organization’s Resolutions Committee. He has also served on and chaired the Midwest/North Central Regional Committee for the American Red Cross.
